The Late Year in Review

I know that I have been away for a while. I have been deeply involved in a relationship with several box sets that I received for Christmas. However, my lovely co-workers keep asking about my next edition, so I am forced to take a break away from the Dinnerladies and write something.

I find that I don't have much to review. At first, this was distressing. However, after giving it much thought (okay, only about two days of thought), I have come to the conclusion that this is a good thing. Most of us reach a certain age and begin to wish for a peaceful life. I know that this has been part of my game plan for quite some time. The one difficult thing about living a relatively peaceful life, is that there is not much to report. It sounds boring to the listening party to hear that nothing is really new, nothing exciting is going on, no huge dilemmas are afoot. However, for the person that wants a peaceful existence, it is quite lovely. So, if you ask me what is going on and I reply, 'Not much', it is my way of saying that I am happy.

I would like to give a quick shout out to the millions of babies my friends and family seem to have created this year: Quin, Oliver, Lina, Amy, and Rebecca.

So, I put the question to you: what was the the most surreal moment this year? It can be either in the news or something personal.

For me, it was when Hoff hit the UK top 10 with his single 'Jump in my Car'.

I did not know if I should laugh or cry....
