Tats, Lofts, and DJ Kitty
I know that it has been a short while since I posted. I have been collecting photos and planning to post, but have yet to do it! I have been occupied with watching my new box set of Prison Break. In typical Kimberly fashion, I decided to first watch it during the last two episodes. Of course by then it was too late to see the whole thing and I had to wait until it came out on DVD. Yes, I could have gotten it off of the Internet, but then I would not have a pretty box, would I?

I know that the tats are fake. I still can't resist a smart guy with a full set of sleeves, even if he is a fictional character. Nearly naked and swimming? Even better (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocjYDO_45CQ). Yikes, I have become a supreme perv in my old age. I say this as if I did not spend my childhood pasting Tiger Beat photos to my wall.

Kitty planned a Prison Break of his own; however, he was unable to get the final door open. Little does he know: this is an entrance to our loft and not roof access.

DJ Kitty gets ready for his next set. What songs should kitty play?

Finally, the crazy cat look is captured on film. This is the expression that he gets right before he does something very insane or stupid.
Bridge photos will be on the very next post. I did not want too many pics on one posting.
Be seeing you, K

Nat,
Nope did not text anyone this weekend! Must have been someone with a secret crush! :)
Does kitty take requests???
Hmmm...anything BUT Peter Murphy...I've heard enough to last a lifetime...
Perhaps some Tom Waits?
Okay, so no idea who Tom Waits is at all. I have heard the name, but can't put it together with anything that I can think of....It is a shame that you were overexposed to Murphy (and probably to one album and two songs in particular most likely) because he has been releasing records since 1978 and is the forerunning of a lot of modern bands and sounds used in music today (at least his early stuff is). Or, maybe it is because he does sound a lot like Neal Diamond. Really, people, next time you hear Peter Murphy, close your eyes and imagine Diamond. Its spooky.
Okay....Tom Waits also has been making music since the mid 70's. You may have seen him in the role of Renfield in "Bram Stoker's Dracula" with Gary Oldman (it was anything but Bram Stoker's Dracula, but I digress). Tom Waits also had a semi-hit with "I Don't Wanna Grow Up". Also, I think he originally wrote the song "Downtown Train". He collaborates with Les Claypool (Primus) a lot. He's got an odd way of phrasing things...sometimes very tongue in cheek. One of the artists that makes great music, although with his raspy voice doesnt get commercial success too much. But you always see him listed in artist's top picks in those year end lists. Some favorite songs are "Filipino Box Spring Hog" and "Chocolate Jesus"..."Get Behind the Mule". One of those artists you gotta have weird tastes to enjoy.
Any backhanded gay references aside, I kinda had Peter Murphy shoved down my throat a few years back...to the point where my inner gag reflex kicked in. As Doug Cross (Squeeze, Manray) used to joke "all Peter Murphy, all the time". You ain't kidding. Drove me nuts to the point where I wont even use the "Bauhaus" font on my computer, ha ha. Of course I say this with my ticket for The Who on November 20th in my desk. Like with everything else, to each his or her own. I'm sure my neighbors here would love to to stop playing Neil Young, Peal Jam, Pete Townshend, etc as well. But until I find a better way to deal with stress, tough cookies!!
K, I will go on the web tonight and try to hear some of the songs. I bet I have heard them , but just don't know who does them. I usually end up liking most things once I give a listen to them. :) and the rest of your taste in music is good, so I am betting this will be as well.
I'll be sure to bring some copies over on Thanksgiving, etc...some "greatest hits" if you will...
Definitely fits in with our sense of humor (and likely your dad's too, but then what doesnt fit into his sense of humor!)...
You can find him on YouTube...I think there's a performance of "Chocolate Jesus" from Letterman a few years ago...
YouTube's great for finding old live performances for artists...especially rare TV appearances, etc...
