One Man Star Wars Show
Last night Andy and I went to see a One-Man Star Wars Trilogy. I was a bit apprehensive about this because I thought that maybe I was not nerd enough to get the jokes.
However, as you may know, I am far more the nerd than I care to admit. I laughed right along with the rest of the crowd.
The impressions of Luke, C3PO, and Jabba are worth the journey to go and see Mr. Ross. However, if you are not into Star Wars, or are too into it and can't have a sense of humour about the whole thing, then this show is not for you. He is going to be at the Edinburgh fringe for you locals if you are interested.
He also does a one-man Lord of the Rings, which I would definitely go to see if/when he gets permission to proceed with it. Yeah, I am a big-time nerd. I think it is just better to admit it by my age and get on with my (so-called) life.
In a blog not so far away: We are going on a road trip for my Birthday. I say its my Birthday, but we are going on a scenic train journey, which sounds more like a birthday present for Andy. Well, at any rate, will try to get some nice pics for you.
In a blog far far away: In August we are going to see Henry Rollins (spoken word) and also a repeat viewing of a comedian that focuses on Doctor Who (Moths ate my Doctor Who Scarf).
All I have to do is mention Star Trek in this blog entry and I have completed my nerd nirvana circle of life. Oh, wait, I just did...I better refrain from quoting Monty Python before blogger.com bans me for my extreme dorkiness.com.

LMAO....what no comic book references?
Now I'd love to see the Lord of the Rings one man show. But then, I've long learned to deal with my dorkiness and overall nerddom.
We'll have to develop "Dorks Anonymous" or "Nerds Anonymous".
"Hello, my name is Karl and I'm a dork. I've been to multiple Star Trek conventions, I actually think Jean-Luc is the better captain than "Priceline Negotiator Kirk". I also love Lord of the Rings and actually know a lot of the backstory that is not part of the principal storyline of the books. For example there were a total of 5 wizards or istari in Middle Earth--but you only ever hear 3 of their names: Gandalf the Grey, Saruman the White, and Radagast the Brown".
Okay...now that I've qualified for the Dork Award of the week. Let's not forget Rocky Horror, Mystery Science Theater 3000, and just about anything with Bruce Campbell (Ash from the Evil Dead movies).
Hmmm...was the show anything like a "one man band" like they show in the cartoons--with cymbals on his knees and a bass drum strapped to his back, LOL!!! I can hear it now: "Luke, I am your father" followed by the "chicka-boom" rythm of the drum, ukelele, and cymbals, LMAO!!
G-Karlie, I do have to admit that I don't know much about comic books. For some reason, that portion of Nerdom has escaped me. I think it was because my various friends were mostly gamers and card collectors, rather than comic collectors. I guess it is rather close though, as it is usually the same shop that deals with both. :)
